The executive board, as well as future leaders from University of Nebraska Lincoln Sig Ep, traveled to Chicago, IL for the annual Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity’s Carlson Leadership Academy. At this leadership conference, 23 members from the Nebraska Alpha chapter listened to keynote speakers, participated in specific educational tracks, as well as learned leadership skills that will aid participants in future success. Executive members were broke into different subgroups, comprised of similar officer positions from other Sig Eps from around the nation. In each individual group, the position was analyzed from the roles and responsibilities, to the techniques various houses used to manage each position.

The Nebraska Alpha chapter, as a whole, won the prestigious award of the 2019 Chapter Home of the Year. Individually, the Frank J. Ruck Leadership Award was awarded to the well deserving leader, and current president, Spencer Hosch. Overall, the Carlson Leadership Academy experience was extremely insightful and helpful for all attending members, allowing attendees to bring learned information back to the chapter, improving chapter life as a whole.
